This animation is six 60 second images with one minute between images from 0911-0922UT on 2017/12/22. The FOV is 13'x10'. The images were taken with an 11" SCT f/6.4 and an STF-8300M CCD Camera. Comet C/2017 T1 Heinze is magnitude 13.1 moving at 1.8 degrees per day across Earth's sky. It should brighten rapidly to about magnitude 10 on January 4, but of course it is a comet so no one knows for sure how bright it will get. A single 60 second image is also included.
