Details:
After many mornings of fog I was finally able to get my 1st image of Mars as a baseline apparent size comparison. Mars is compared to the moon in slide 1. Early August Mars will be a bit over 5 times its current apparent diameter. The Moon and Mars slide was taken with a Celestron C9.25 using an ASI
178MC camera. The larger moon images was taken with an
ES ED80 with a 2x Barlow and the sun image was take with a Lunt 60mm double stack with a B1200 blocking filter. The sunrise image with Mt. Rainier on the lower right and Jupiter in the upper left was taken with a Nikon D3100
with a 55mm lens.
