Details:
On a rather normal forecast we decided to drive out to a valley which is a bit hidden from Tromsø light pollution. We just finished setting up our gear (it was still rather early) when suddenly the auroras began to develop all around us. Fortunately, I had the camera the camera on a 10 seconds setting as the sky erupted in earnest -- that way, I could admire the view without fiddling with my gear. Suddenly, the whole valley turned white (with a hint of pink). It was over after about 20 seconds. The brightness can be compared to the car-lights in the background.
