Details:
While the Sun remains devoid of sunspots, the prominences continue to please solar observers equipped with H-Alpha telescopes. A pair of prominences were present on the eastern limb of the Sun on November 18th. These images were captured while fighting the presence of high diffuse clouds, making image capture and processing a challenge. Three images are shown: An overall view with the prominences labeled, plus close-up images of each prominence. DETAILS: Telescope: 80mm f/6 triplet ED refractor. H-Alpha Filter: Solarscope 50mm Etalon with 20mm blocking filter Camera: Imaging Source DMK 31AU03.AS Monochrome CCD camera running at 30 frames/second. Processing Software: AutoStakkert (stack of best 50 frames from AVI video) with final processing in Photoshop CS (false color added).
