Details:
The photos, taken with a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX300 camera between 10:10 and 10:22 (UTC-2h), show a fine display of lenticular (Altocumulus lenticularis) clouds. These lens-shaped formations usually form at high altitudes and tend to remain aligned at right angle to the wind direction, exibiting very smooth contours. In this particular case, a very gentle breeze was blowing as a cold front had just passed and a new weather system was approaching. The last photo, seen with enhanced contrast to compensate for its great distance, shows an interesting example of an "UFO-type" lenticular.
