Details:
The large solar prominence on the northeast quadrant of the Sun that has entertained many observers with Halpha telescopes for the past week is still around, albeit a bit smaller and with a different profile. This is what it looked like today from my observation location in western Montana. The full disc image was captured at prime focus and the enlarged prominence was captured with a 2x barlow + 2x digital zoom. Both are single exposures with a Panasonic DMC-G5 DSLR. The telescope used is an 80mm f/6 Triplet Refractor equipped with a Solarscope 50mm single Etalon and 20mm blocking filter.
