Comet C/2017 O1 ASASSN photographed on October 18th 2017, just on day of its maximum approach to Earth to a distance of 0.7 A.U. (150 million kilometers) from our planet, reaching then its maximum apparent brightness with approximately magnitude 8.5. In this wide field image above a rich starry background and some dark clouds of dust into Camelopardalis constellation (The Giraffe), comet is seen with a coma near 10' diameter and a tail half degree long toward southwest.
