Details:
The Sun has been devoid of sunspots for the past 6 days and counting. However, in accessing the National Solar Observatory website (http://halpha.nso.edu/) I noted that there was a looping prominence on the solar limb in the southeast quadrant. I decided to capture some images of the prominence using an Halpha Solar filter attached to my 80mm ED refractor.
Details:
Camera: Panasonic Lumix DMC-G5.
Telescope: 80mm F/6 Triplet ED Refractor.
Solar Filter: Solarscope 50mm Single Etalon with 20mm blocking filter.
Image: Single frame .PNG file from an MP4 video processed in Photoshop CS and converted to a .jpg for display here. False color added to solar disc. Color of Prominence is natural as the camera saw it.
