Friday 13th was definitely not an unlucky night for aurora chasers on the Otago Peninsula here in New Zealand, where we got to see an auroral outburst. If you ever need proof we see auroras in the Southern Hemisphere, look for the reflections of the Southern Cross in the waters of Hoopers Inlet.
