Details:
I was disappointed when I tried to see the auroras caused by the X9s flares due to bad weather but I was fortunate to see the auroras during a flight over the Atlantic a couple of nights ago (photos taken on 9/11 around 5 am UT). At moments the auroras were so bright that I could see them clearly moving outside of the plane even with a couple of lights on inside the plane and the moon shining which provided a nice color to the clouds below. It was also very impressive seeing the auroras stretching all the way to the horizon "below" the plane (or the plane wing tip).
