Details:
The auroras came in all shapes & sizes over Knik River Valley in Southcentral Alaska during the early morning hours of September 8, 2017. The beginning of the evening started off surprisingly quiet despite the promising solar wind & geomagnetic data. But as 3 am approached the auroras started percolating then suddenly blew their top off until the break of dawn! The peak hour was 4-to-5 am but for three hours I could barely keep up with the dynamic 360° show. It was a great Rorschach test of reflective patterns.
