Details:
Sunday night August 27 was a rare evening of clear skies in northwest Wyoming, the prevalent smoke from western wildfires abating. The waxing August Moon that had totally eclipsed the Sun 6.5 days earlier about 100 miles south put on a fine show setting over Sheep Mountain and the placid waters of Buffalo Bill Reservoir just west of my town of Cody Wyoming. What lingering smoke there was dispersed in the lower atmosphere further west gave the Moon a rich coppery glow as it sank lower.
Nikon D5300 dslr with Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 ATX wide zoom, switching to my trusty old Nikkor AIS 35mm f/2 manual lens ; ISO 1600 with exposures bracketed from 1 sec to 10 secs at f/4
