My kids and I have been anxiously awaiting the partial eclipse for our area - and it did not disappoint. The cloudless sky offered us a fantastic experience viewing this solar (and lunar) event. It was the first for all of us, so I was just as giddy to take periodic looks through our solar glasses and watch the moon slowly nibble away at the sun's glaring disc. The sequence pics are taken with my iPhone through one of the pairs of Solar glasses (not the best quality - but gets the point across). We also tried out pinhole projectors, and all stood amazed as the bright mid-day sunlight took on a smoky tint, almost as if someone had put sunglasses on the world. One of the coolest sights was one I had heard of through the SpaceWeather site regarding the crescent shaped sunbeams through the leaves.. I couldn't stop walking around our sidewalk and driveway checking them out. I found that the tall trees around our house made for some perfect, and pretty large crescent shaped suns. We cant wait until 2024 for the next eclipse - except we have all agreed to take the 3 hour drive into Ohio and see it in totality!
