Details:
I am up in the San Juan islands of WA state. There is a lot of smoke in the atmosphere from numerous forest fires in BC Canada. The sun has been red at sunset for nights on end.
I used a Nikon P900 with no filter or tripod on the automatic setting, using the screen as the viewfinder, zoomed to the end of the 83x optical zoom
