Last night we had a cold front but as the clouds left us the sky became crystal clear - although seeing was really bad as mad wind also came with the front. As crescent Moon and Mercury were very close (a bit less than 30 arcminutes)together in the morning hours I gave them a try. Took several pics, on most of them Mercury was too blurry but I was lucky with one where the planet was a dot not a small smudge. :) Pic was taken at 08:40 UT, 5,5 hours after local sunrise with 50°solar altitude. (Moon and Mercury were at 28°altitude.) This was my first attempt to capture Mercury at daylight and with the help of Moon it was not so hard as I thought! Nikon D5300 with Tamron 150-600 lens (handheld camera)ISO100, F8, 1/2000 sec. single exp.
