Details:
After several nights of cloudiness, the skies finally cleared. We went out at about 10:30 to a dark location. Twilight was still visible to the west, but as twilight faded, we noticed there still was a lightness towards the north. We got out the camera and confirmed that yes - we were seeing aurora - but it was very distant. Just before local midnight we saw a few rays and captured this photo. A few minutes later the aurora faded back down to just a glow.
