Details:
I was photographing the Sun using a Solar filter on July 4th. The disc appeared clear. I took few more pictures on July 8th and saw the sunspot. To be sure it was a sunspot, I took more pictures the next day July 9th and them some more through my Celestron telescope, with a solar filter, of course. I use a Nikon D5100.
