Details:
On the 19th of May during Perijove-06, Juno came as close as 3600 km to Jupiters surface and took a serie of fantastic close-ups of the planets surface from pole to pole shown in the top sequence. I decided to reenact the same views by assembling amateur images of Jupiter taken around the same date from Earth at a distance of 700 million kilometer into a map (center image). Junos orbit is marked by a thin black line. The result is the sequence on the bottom line. /*Peter R Credit for the Juno sequence: NASA / SwRI / MSSS / Gerald Eichstädt / Seán Doran © CC NC SA Amateur photographers for the Jupiter map: Christopher Go, Teruaki Kumamori, Riuchi Iwamasa, Yoshida Tomoyuki
