Details:
These photos and animations show the extremely thin crescent moon, only 0.8 % illuminated and 3-7° above the horizon at azimuth 295°. In spite of lingering clouds partially blocking that part of the sky, I managed to capture it when it was only 18 hours old, just before it set over a hill 4 km away. A Canon PowerShot SX60 HS camera was used with its "high dynamic range mode" on in order to enhance contrast, thus improving my chance of finding the Moon. Photos were taken from 17:25 to 17:42 (UTC-3h), approximately (20.5 - 2.5 UTC)=18.0 hours after New Moon. Animations have also been provided in order to give a broader idea of the finding.
