What a show! Clouds got in the way somewhat for me but cleared to reveal an amazing sub-storm outburst at about 2:10 am MDT when the curtains took on detailed structure and began to move very quickly for a few minutes. Curtains were fringed at the bottom with nitrogen pinks and then later took on a blue tint to the upper parts of the curtains from sunlight streaming over the pole. by 3 am the display was in its mode of rapid pulsation and flame-lie flickering. Amazing to watch but tough to capture. These were all 1.6-second exposures at f/2.8 and ISO 3200 shot as part of time-lapses, from home in southern Alberta.
