Details:
This was the brightest display of Aurora Australis I've seen in 3 years of aurora-chasing. We watched the lights for some 3 hours from Lake Ellesmere, Canterbury. Lots of activity with a strong auroral arc present soon after sunset and lots of beams throughout the evening. Images shot on Canon 6D and 7D cameras with Samyang 14mm f2.8 and Canon EF-S 17-55mm f2.8 lenses respectively. Exposure times of 10-20s.
