Details:
This bright auroral beam alerted me to tonight's G3 storm. I watched it for about 15 minutes as it slowly meandered westward and faded. Besides this solitary bright beam, the whole northern sky was bright with a pinkish glow. This is a 30-second exposure at f4.4 and ISO3200 with a 70mm lens and a Nikon D700 camera.
