After seeing a beautiful Gallery image of sunspots from Sri Lanka, I thought about getting a photo of my own. Thankfully the weather cooperated both yesterday and this morning.
Motion and development in the sunspots can be seen (over 22 hours) if you toggle between the second and third photos -- uncropped images edited for brightness and contrast.
I used a Nikon Coolpix P600 with ND5 solar filter foil. Thin clouds were present on both days, so I am happy that umbra and penumbra were resolved.
