Details:
Karen and I went out to the local hillside to try to view the 23-hour old Moon. A nice sunset and clouds near the horizon made for a beautiful sunset with lots of colors. Luckily the clouds dissipated somewhat, and at about 7:42pm PDT I found the crescent Moon in my image stabilized binoculars. Soon thereafter we were able to view the crescent Moon with the unaided eye, watching it set behind the Oakland hills while intermittently taking images. I used a Canon 6D, with a Tamron 150-600mm lens set at 600mm, f/6.3. The first image in the stacked sequence was taken at 7:58pm PDT at ISO-8000, 1/500 sec. The last image was taken at 8:10pm PDT at ISP-12800, 1/60 sec.
