Details:
"Outburst" Sparked by a coronal hole, the sky above erupted with an incredible display of the northern lights, including this image taken at 1:00am on March 1, 2017. My primary camera had ceased working after many hours at -20F, so I switched to my backup camera that was already prepped with a 12mm wide-angle lens. I distinctly recall the snow-covered ground lighting up around me! No extra color saturation of any kind. I adjusted color temp to 4600 and added just a bit of contrast. Location and Date: Delta Junction, AK March 1, 2017 1:00am. Camera/Lens: Nikon D700, Samyang 12mm, f/2.8, ISO 3200, 4 seconds.
