Details:
The most dramatic changes can be observed over the course of a few days as Venus approaches inferior conjunction. Not only is the phase dwindling, but due to its lower elevation, atmospheric effects become more apparent. I could detect a rainbow of colors across the thin disk of Venus as it shimmered in the Western twilight. I imaged our neighbor using a Meade LX50 10" SCT f/10 and an Imaging Source DFK camera
