With last night's forecasted G1 geomagnetic storm, and predicted cloudy weather over most part of Finnish Lapland, it was quite a challenge to find clear skies. I did manage though to find a really nice spot after about 100km of driving. Looking at the OVATION model, I knew that the Aurora would be visible as soon as the sky would get dark enough, and it happened indeed! The clouds came soon after, so I missed the peak of the storm, however, I managed to capture the crescent Moon, Venus and Mars in the same shot together with the Aurora, and that's enough to have "saved" my night! I tried to reflect as much as possible how it all looked like in this still quite bright dawn sky. Hope you like the pictures!
