Details:
The rain stopped and the clouds parted just as the eclipse began on Dec. 14, 2001. Vic Winter, Oliver Staiger, my daughter, Katy, and I observed and imaged the eclipse from Punta Leona, Costa Rica. There will be another annular eclipse visible from Costa RIca on Oct.14, 2023. My daughter was 11 in 2001; I hope she will join me again in 2023 to experience a similar eclipse.
