Details:
The forecasts were calling for geomagnetic storms tonight, so I went out to take some aurora photos. When I got to the location I chose not much was happening and I entertained my self taking shots of the slight aurora with the black spruce forest lit by passing cars. Then I got cold in the -5f temps, so put the camera away and sat in the car with the motor running to warm the car and myself. When I got ready to go, I got out of the car to give the sky one more chance and suddenly the sky erupted in light.
