Rainbows are a rare sight in San Francisco, much rarer than a green flash of the setting sun. That's why I was very delighted to spot a rainbow over Golden Gate Bridge.

Rainbows are rare in most places. Hawaii, Patagonia, west coast of Scotland are a few exceptions! Otherwise rainbows are much rarer than sundogs and many other atoptics sights. Its just that thay are more noticeable in the sky.

Thank you for the comment, Les. Youre right, rainbows are rare everywhere, but still they are especially rare in San Francisco. I used to live in Ukraine, and I definitely saw a few rainbows per year. Here in San Francisco in some years I see none :-)
