Details:
What a first week in 2017! We had a very nice Aurora display almost every night around Saariselkä in Northern Finland. Despite some fog and clouds we were able to get a great show of colors and dynamically moving and even pulsating Auroras. Here the best of many many pictures I have taken during our trip. All pictures were taken with Canon 6D and a Tokina 11-16 mm lens. Here some more details: #1: taken on 3. Jan. @ Saariselkä, 11mm, ISO1600, exposure 5s, #2: taken on 3. Jan. @ Saariselkä, 11mm, ISO1600, exposure 5s, white wave with pink border #3: taken on 6. Jan. between Inari and Ivalo, 11mm, ISO1250, exposure 13s, reddish and green curtain over trees #4: taken on 6. Jan. @ Saariselkä, 16mm, ISO3200, exposure 8s, these Auroras were pulsating for over an hour and were incredible, some of the reddish colors you could see with your naked eyes I am now back to Germany but I would like to immediately go there again for the great show. Cheers Manfred

Thanks ! The aurora shown in the very suggestive third picture is like a hovering gull or a plane taking off.
