Details:
Total cloud cover was present all around the troms region with gale force winds that whistled all around the landscape almost like singing and voices.
So we had to travel near to the Finnish border where there would be clearer skies due to the structure of the landscape.
While waiting for the strong solar wind that was expected on the 30th we prayed it would arrive just after midnight ,we played around with the small aurora that was present all night shining thought the very strong nitrogen atmosphere ,the red air glow turned the snow red.
The milky way is a photographers dream just now with almost clear skies and the new moon.
The various shapes and patterns the clouds made all most fooled me , with strange long steaks of light that the clouds made in front of the gorgiuos milky way sky.
The snow turned red for an hour or two which you can see in the images above.
The aurora slightly intensified just after mid night taking us into dec 30th.
Hope tonight and tomorrow are great as i can't think of a better way to bring in the new year than under the aurora.
