Details:
The current geomagnetic storm can be traced to a large coronal hole that has persisted for at least five solar rotations dating back to July 2016. Plotted here are my magnetometer data from the last six-months together with SDO/AIA data illustrating the correlation between the persistent coronal hole and periodic geo-effective solar storms spaced at approximately 28 days, or once per solar revolution.
