Details:
With two sizeable and persistent coronal holes on opposite sides of the Sun, over the past three months Earth has been subjected to regular blasts of solar wind in time with the Sun's rotation period, but at a spacing of approximately 14 days because of their antipodal spacing. The resulting geomagnetic storms created beautiful aurora and the local disturbances within Earth's magnetic field were detected on my magnetometer here in the UK.
