Details:
Late afternoon, around 16:00h. the first weak signs of auroras were caught on camera. At 17:00h. a very nice green arc in the north, low above the horizon. Changing the observation place was not a bad decision...Between the snowy trees in local winterwonderland developed a fantastic following up of the most wonderful auroras! Many shapes and speeds! Mainly green and now and than a colourful borderline with some red. The air had a high moisture content and that was making an end to the observation as the temperature was -12C.... so, a camera with frost bite ;-) Happily at the same time the activity also went down. Up to the next round. Maybe this same night. Tomorrow is again fresh snow forecasted (good for the pictures, with a still crescent moon). Friday night seems to be perfect here in Salla ..... but of course we will be stand by to Keep an eye on the sky!
