Details:
These images result from photos taken with a Canon PowerShot SX60 HS camera between 22:10 and 22:30 UT (about 1 hour after sunset). They show an interesting alignment of the planets Mercury (bottom, next to the 1km-high Tijuca Peak), Venus and Mars with the 45% illuminated crescent Moon (top). Five 1-sec photos at ISO 800 have been stacked to yield each image in order to reduce noise. The first one is a copy of the second with labels added, while the third gives us the impression that the Tijuca Peak is pointing to the lovely evening diplay across Rio`s (-23° lat.) western sky.
