Details:
Nicola Mackin has now got the AVI capture implemented in AstroDMx Capture for Linux and has also installed it on a Linux Mint machine (It is being developed under Fedora Linux).
A DMK21AU04 camera was placed at the prime focus of a Solarmax II, 60, BF15, H-alpha scope. 4 x 1000 frame AVIs were captured of overlapping quadrants of the Sun with the exposure set for the solar disk. Another 4 x 1000 frame AVIs were captured of 4 overlapping quadrants with the camera exposure set to reveal the prominences. The AVIs were stacked in Registax 5.1 running in Wine and the 4 resulting images from each exposure were combined using Autostitch running in Wine. The disk image and the prominences image were post processed, merged and colourised in the Gimp 2.9 to produce a single image showing the disk and the prominences.
