Details:
After weeks of cloud and rain, the skies cleared. Humidities were high, though, and I could not stop a dewspot forming on the center of the lens. As well, there was a faint background sheen of auroral activity. Despite this, the comet shows up fairly well although the tail is faint. This is a galaxy-rich area of the celestial dome and there are many in this image, the standout being M106. Pentax K-3, DA*300 f/4 lens @ f/4.5,stack of 40 images totaling 15 minutes of exposure at ISO 1600 and 3200. Exposures taken between 2034-2105 local time on Oct 30, 2016; 0334-0405 UTC, Oct 31, 2016.
