Details:
I ( Olivier ) flew from Switzerland to Iceland on Saturday. Meanwhile my twin brother , Philip, flew from LAX to Iceland to meet with me. Earlier I had bought a fast wide angle lens, Rokinon 24mm f/1.4 , and had it shipped to Philip. The goal : if he sees aurora while in flight he might be able to shoot them. He flew on an overnight flight and we hoped he would see the Northern Lights while flying trans-atlantic to Iceland. Jackpot ! He saw nice aurora borealis while seated on left window side, facing north. Images handheld several seconds exposure while pressing lens against window, ISO 800 , f/1.4 . Images here untouched , just resized and slight sharpen. this was roughly 2-4 hours before landing in Iceland, so it started between Canada and Greenland.
