Details:
Didn’t have much time today to image the Sun in H-alpha light, and the seeing conditions were also not very good, so I’ve decided to acquire only two image series, one in White Light (WL) and the other in H-alpha light (HA). The comparison is rather interesting, with the only common element in the two shots being the sunspot’s nuclei. The HA image shows so much more compared to the WL image, but the sunspot’s penumbra is almost invisible in HA. Also, the solar granulation is visible in the WL image, while in the HA shot it is invisible. To better compare the two type of images, a small animation showing the transition from white light to h-alpha can be seen here: https://maximusphotography.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/diff.gif
