Details:
One more from Vestrahorn on the night of Sep. 2nd. After my third day of shooting auroras (for the first time in my life), Im beginning to realize how freakishly luck I was that this was one of the images I got on my first night ever of shooting these things. Clear sky, rockin aurora, and beautiful backdrop. This was taken around the peak time of activity. Sony A7S + Canon TSE17 ISO1600, 15s, 3-shot pano, stitched vertically.

You were right, absolutely breathtaking photo. If this is your first time, I cant wait to see pics after you take some more. Were you on a boat, or the spit of land with the satellite dishes on it.

ghipszky, I was on the beach along the spit, right along the waters edge; the reflection is from the thin layer of water that the waves leave behind. Yes, my feet got soaked :D

Do you know where the white house is by itself across from there? I used to love the way the horses walked along that black sand. Across from you it is super marshy. Where the white house is there is a driveway with tons of fossils in it. I am glad you are getting to see such amazing auroras.
