Details:
We had a lot of clouds early in the evening and a thunder storm that came through the St Mary Valley at Glacier National Park. When reviewing the parameters for Aurora on Spaceweather, the conclusion was that an Aurora was imminent so a test shot did show faint aurora in the North. A trip was made to Chief Mountain turnout next to the Canadian Border and we were rewarded with the following images of both the Milky Way over Chief Mountain and Aurora over Cardston, Alberta with thunderstorms in the distance. Camera was Canon 60D, Tokina 10-18mm f2.8, ISO 5000 with 30 second exposure, (NO Photoshop)
