Details:
‘Wow’ the western sky looked absolutely spectacular this evening with the three planets Mercury, Venus and Jupiter making a beautiful close conjunction in the evening sky. The sky was so clear you can even see a couple of the moons of Jupiter around the planet. We are away camping at the moment and I had to work my way around a lot of trees and campfires to capture an image…but I did it :-) Image taken with a Canon 70D camera and a Canon 100-400mm lens set at 190mm, exposure time was 1.3 seconds and ISO 4000.

Ooops, in my excitement to post my image, I’ve mistaken the pretty 3rd mag star Beta Virginis (Zavijava) in Virgo as the planet Mercury next to Jupiter and Venus…going through my images I have indeed captured Mercury in a wider field image but its further away from the planets, so sorry about that, Noeleen
