Details:
The full moon occurred around 4:28am CST this morning. Some Native Americans refer to this moon as the Sturgeon Moon, Blueberry Moon or Green Corn Moon. As seen in the images, the latter would certainly apply to folks who live in Iowa. I drove around the countryside early this morning trying to find a good vantage point to image moonset with the tall stalks of green corn. It was a challenge as I had to dodge thick patches of dense fog. Ultimately I was able to get a clear shot - even with the "Shadow of Venus" making its appearance. The images were captured with a Canon EOS 60Da and Sigma 70-200mm lens @ 70mm. ISO 100, f/3.2, 1/125 sec and a flash to slightly illuminate the corn.
