I do not know what it is, however, what it looks like is this: An LED light on a smartphone reflected off glass that the phone was pointed at while taking an out-of-focus picture of rain drops on the glass.

These are cropped images taken during the morning of the 13th of August, and were taken in the constellation Andromeda. I have seen this light flash before and its the first time that I have been able to image it, proving to myself that I wasnt seeing things.

IF, if this isnt some trickery and that is out of focus stars and a flash did happen, its possible that it was spinning junk. Often while I stargaze I will see small pricks of very bright light flash. Sometimes it will flash at a mag of -6. If I have a pair of binos with me, Ill look up at where the flash came from and Ill see a very, very faint object going across the sky. Sometimes it will flash again. Sometimes it wont.

Could it be an Iridium Flash?

Most Iridium satellites are still controlled, so their flares can be predicted. The Iridium communication satellites have a peculiar shape with three polished door-sized antennas, 120° apart and at 40° angles with the main bus. The forward antenna faces the direction the satellite is travelling. Occasionally, an antenna reflects sunlight directly down at Earth, creating a predictable and quickly moving illuminated spot on the surface below of about 10 km (6.2 mi) diameter. To an observer this looks like a bright flash, or flare in the sky, with a duration of a few seconds.
