Details:
After a fortnight's delay due to being below the local hilly horizon and then overwhelmed by bright sunset glare, Venus has at last risen high enough to appear briefly and then set in the Mutare evening sky. It first became barely visible low in the bright portion of a fading twilight arch at 17.41 LT before setting at 17.44 at the exactly the same point as the Sun had done 39 minutes earlier. The animation shows the last minute of its steep descent to the horizon. The photographs were taken with a hand-held Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 compact camera in sunset mode at magnifications ranging from wide to x30 zoom.
