Details:
I was taking pictures of Noctilucent clouds. When I was checking my pictures and went to delete one I noticed these white dots, about 7 of them throughout the picture. If you zoom in on the white dots they do look like meteors but I'm not sure.

Those look like maybe out of focus stars.

Hey Debbie,
Looking at your zoomed image, I can see points which seem to be stars. And right next to them the odd little circles. Since the stars are nice clean points, and the rest of the images seem in focus, Id say the circles are something on your camera lens that caught stray light from a building exterior light.

as mentioned by oregonrandy, the white circles are out of focus. Additionally the side of the (house) and underside of branches looks like you may have used a flash for this photo. Based on my own experience I would speculate that they are insects, debris floating in the air, drops of falling water - was anything wet, like the tree?, snowflakes, ash from a fire blowing past. It looks SOOoooo much like something close & out of focus & illuminated with a strobe/ flash!!!

My lens was clean and there was no rain or dew. I have taken a lot of pictures on this trip and never had these white dots appear before. The camera was focused on the sky. There were no other buildings with lights on. I have not tried to capture another picture at night since then, but maybe I will try tonight. Being we are on the outskirts of Spearfish, SD there should be nothing interfering with my picture. All the other pictures I took that night did not have these white dots in it. Weird.

I like the explanation by jghops that these may be pollen or dust floating the air near the camera.

I have had similar photos when using a strobe at night. I think all the white dots are dust, pollen or insects, even what looks like stars. Since there is one between the camera and the tree, they are definitely closer to the camera than anything else with the point sources being far enough away to come into focus. Be sure to disable the flash first if you can.
