While the Auroras were pretty washed out with the nearly full moon, it was a great time to test out the highly modified DSLR Full Spectrum camera setup. Using an IR Filter on the front of the lens so only IR wave lengths could pass through to the sensor, the Auroras showed up perfectly in the Infra Red spectrum with the full moon washing out almost all the visible light of the aurora to the naked eye. The added bonus was the IR light reflected from the moon helped fill the foreground to make it look like daylight, with auroras and stars at the same time. Here is the time lapse video of the event with the IR and visible light. https://youtu.be/b_U6-2kQIU8
