Mars Last night .06-21-2016..seeing had its moments, North is up in this image, I capture Mars & Large Dark feature Syrtis Major Planum, The Dark Feature near center, below that toward the Southern Polar region notice the brighter patch which may easily be mistaken for a Southern Ice cap, but this is a Large bright feature on Mars known as Hellas Planitia, now go to near the top of the Globe(North) we can see Utopia Planitia.& Utopia Rupes.with Astapus Colles & some high blue limb clouds visible near the North polar region. there are many more features visible, this is why i love observing and capturing Mars the only planet that shows significant fine surface details from Earth. Mars is looking good due South just after Dark right now, go take a look before it gets small again, as it recedes from Earth! Best Regards, John Chumack www.galacticimages.com
