Details:
This morning (4 June) managed to capture an ultra-thin waning Crescent (1% of full) Moon rising above the Musasa tree-lined summit of a hill in Cecil Kop Nature Reserve. The thin horizontal arc, which appeared above the trees at 05 49 LT, was only visible for about ten minutes before being overwhelmed by the bright orange glare of a dawn twilight arch. This is the thinnest moon I have so far seen from Mutare. The three pictures were taken using a tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 compact camera with x40 - x60 zoom and manual settings to obtain the exact exposure required to show up the Moon.
